Remodel your bathroom into a beautiful spa bathroom | Indian ...

Modern life is full of stress caused by work, commutes, kids, and constant other demands on your attention. In this environment, it is no wonder that vacations are such a magical time to break the daily stress-filled routine and relax.

However, few people can afford the expense or time away from work required for an extended vacation. As a result, day spas and exercise clubs have grown in popularity. Unfortunately, these are often expensive and aren't available everywhere. Luckily, there is a solution to the problem of chronic stress, and it's found in your home. Any master bathroom, large or small, can be remade into a spa retreat with the use of a little imagination and a few tips from the professionals.

Renovating for Relaxation
If the bathroom appears dirty with elements such as stained grout, old tiles, or peeling paint, this will detract from your relaxation even if only on a subconscious level. Color also adds to or detracts from feelings of relaxation. Brighter colors tend to promote alertness, and darker, more natural tones are a better choice for a meditative atmosphere. You should change these base elements to some degree. Few other changes will have as profound an effect on how you view the room.
Divide the Space
The second task is managing your approach by dividing the space into functional areas, such as the bath or shower, vanity, and unused space that collects clutter due to lack of definition. This is especially important for larger bathrooms but shouldn't be neglected even in small ones. Once divided, you can focus on the elements of each area.
Making the Bathroom Liveable
Do you have an especially relaxing activity? Whether it is reading a book, listening to music, or watching television, most people never think of incorporating these activities into the bathroom. The relaxing power of a hot bath is easier to accept by combining it with other relaxing activities. A small book shelf, waterproof flat-screen TV, or sound system with remote control. Depending on your choice, this may require increasing the ventilation of the room in order to reduce humidity. Don't overlook the importance of adding a spa tub for a perfectly relaxing environment.
Lighting
Most bathrooms contain an overhead light and one or more vanity lights. You can change the entire ambience of the room by simply replacing harsh lights with soft white or other colors. For the truly adventurous, it is time to think about alternative lighting for different sections of the room. Recessed LEDs, for instance, could be coupled with a directed lamp for reading comfort. As with other elements, the choice of lighting is wholly dependent on your personality and the requirements of your activity.
Pampering Basics
Small touches make a big difference in the way you perceive the room. A heated towel rack provides a touch of the exotic. Linen curtains give the room an airy feel. Everything from the choice of material for storage shelves to robe racks is a chance to build ambience.
Your home should be your refuge from the stresses of life. The bathroom is a natural place to begin building this refuge. Incorporating spa features and personalizing the room to your tastes will ensure a more rejuvenating experience instead of brief baths that leave you only wanting more.
