Assistant Marketing Manager- Economics, Finance, and Business

The Assistant Marketing Manager will develop and execute marketing plans and work closely with the editorial, publicity, and sales departments to maximize all promotional opportunities. In addition, he or she will be responsible for analyzing pricing, competition, and sales trends.
Primary Responsibilities:

? Prepare, refine and implement marketing plans for all assigned titles.
? Develop promotional partnerships with relevant organizations and websites and maintain existing partnerships.
? Partner with direct response team to build direct mail, e-mail, web, and exhibit strategies.
? Plan and execute advertising (print, online, co-op) strategy for list
? Perform market research for future growth areas
? Establish sales strategies for the list and communicate these strategies through sales meeting presentations, promotional materials, direct mail, advertising, etc.
? Create and implement electronic marketing initiatives
? Prepare and execute academic review mailings for assigned titles.
? Attend launch meetings, sales and marketing meetings and work closely with editorial on the development of proposals preliminary sales estimates, packaging, pricing, discount, and positioning.
? Present appropriate titles at sales conference
? Travel to major conferences to effectively promote books, journals, and online products relevant to the discipline.
? Act as author main contact and effectively communicate promotional plans before and at publication as well as maximizing marketing platform.
? Work closely with counterparts internationally to build successful discipline-based marketing strategies.
? Work closely with Online Product Marketing to effectively promote online products to end users.
? Liaise with editorial, sales, publicity and branch departments to ensure clear communication
.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, detail oriented environment and possess a positive, can-do attitude.
We require two to five years related experience in marketing or sales. Book publishing experience preferred. Strong proficiency in reporting and analysis are required?knowledge of BookScan, Bowker?s PubTrack, Ingram?s iPage, and Baker and Taylor?s PubAlley are a plus.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate initiative, creative problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel a must. College degree required.
