The vehicle that kicked off Buick's design overhaul has been moderately refreshed. For 2013, the Enclave's exterior will receive a new front fascia with LED daytime running lamps and a new headlamp design with LED accents. The luxury crossover's hood has also been restyled and slightly lowered, and there's a new black chrome waterfall grille. The rear fascia has seen similar updates with a new design, LED taillamps, and integrated chrome accent exhaust tips.
?
On the inside, the Enclave is bathed in "ice blue" LED ambient lighting that'll make you feel like you're driving an oversized Light Cycle at night. (We're still trying to decide if that's a good or bad thing.) Updates also include eight-way power driver and front-passenger seats and four-way adjustable head rests. As is the trend in luxury models, the interior is covered with soft-touch materials. Oh, and don't forget those requisite chrome accents.
?
The interior gets four new color combinations with some fancy stitching and accompanying wood accents, one of which looks sort of like a leopard-print woodgrain. The new equestrian-inspired interiors are nice, but from the models we saw you better be a big fan of brown. Seriously, there's a lot of brown here.? The new center stack comes standard with a touchscreen display, IntelliLink, and, wait for it, capacitive controls. Navi is optional. All 2013 Enclaves will also feature front center airbags, an industry first.
Certain parts of the Enclave's interior did feel a bit chintzy. The door locks looked like something from 1995, and the the plastic surrounding the shifter and covering the center console compartment felt and looked pretty darn cheap. Granted, these are little things, but they do slightly detract from the otherwise impressive interior.?
